Crawl-space moisture projects can be difficult to compare because one contractor may quote a simple vapor barrier while another includes drainage, a sump pump, dehumidification, encapsulation and wood repair. The total price only makes sense when you know which problem each item is solving.
Common parts of a moisture-control scope
- Drainage: exterior grading, interior drains or sump systems may be used when water enters or collects below the home.
- Vapor barrier: ground-cover material can reduce moisture moving from exposed soil into the crawl space.

Structural damage is a separate cost category
