WRITTEN QUOTE → EXTRA COSTS → QUESTIONS

What could be missing from the quoted price?

Compare the quoted totals with the extra costs you can document. Separate included work, incremental extras and unanswered questions before discussing the final scope.

Worksheet details

Do not enter account numbers, passwords, addresses or card details. This worksheet accepts manually entered values, not document uploads.

1. Fill the gaps without guessing prices

Enter two written quote totals and classify five common cost topics. For an extra, enter only the incremental cost above the quote. Do not add work already included. For an allowance, enter only its additional shortfall, not the full cost again.

Unknown costs remain unknown. The tool will not claim a complete project price or choose the cheapest contractor. Different repair methods and quantities may make quotes incomparable.

2. Choose a review date (optional)

Use a date before any proposal expiry or decision deadline you independently verified. No legal deadline is calculated here.

Save, resume and calendar review dates

The workspace is not saved automatically. Save a private JSON file and open it here later to continue. It is not encrypted; keep the file private. Importing resets your verification checkbox.

Calendar download does not create reminders on its own. Import the .ics file into your calendar and check its notification settings. It contains generic review titles and a tool link, not your name or financial amounts. No email or automatic monitoring service is enabled. Past dates are not moved into the future.

An incomplete total is not a cheap total

In the fictional sample, Quote A is $12,000 but has $2,400–$3,400 of entered extras. Quote B is $13,500 and lists those two topics as included. Other topics remain unpriced in both. The comparison raises the right questions without declaring either contractor better.

Find the written evidence first with the quote scope comparison. Use the quote checklist for the wider review.

Privacy and limitations

The new worksheet code runs locally and does not send your entries to a server or store them automatically. A page visit may be counted by the existing site tracker, which receives no worksheet values. Your browser can retain form data outside this tool's control. Data you explicitly export or place in your own calendar is handled by your device and calendar provider.

Only user-entered information is used. The result does not verify a provider, contract, price or document. No bank connection, paid account or external AI API is required. Clearing the workspace does not delete files or calendar events you already saved.
