2026 CRACK REPAIR GUIDE

How much does basement wall crack injection cost?

Crack injection is often discussed for poured-concrete basement walls when a limited crack needs to be sealed or bonded from the interior. The quote depends on the crack itself, whether water is entering, wall access and whether the crack is stable.

Two common injection approaches

  • Epoxy injection: often used where bonding a stable concrete crack is part of the repair goal.
  • Polyurethane injection: often used where flexibility and water sealing are important, depending on the crack and contractor system.

The right material depends on the condition and repair objective. Ask why one system is being recommended rather than choosing by price alone.

What changes the price

Long cracks, multiple cracks, active leaking, finished basement walls, difficult access, surface coatings, wider openings and extra preparation can all raise the cost. Removing drywall or finishes to reach the concrete may be a separate line item.

Injection is not structural stabilization

A crack can be sealed while the underlying wall or foundation continues to move. Horizontal cracks, stair-step patterns, displacement, bowing, repeated reopening or cracking combined with sloping floors can justify a broader structural evaluation.

For broader pricing, see our foundation crack repair cost guide. If the wall is moving inward, compare bowing basement wall repair cost. For water-control work beyond the crack itself, review basement waterproofing cost.

Questions to ask the contractor

  • Do you believe this crack is stable?
  • Why are you recommending epoxy or polyurethane?
  • Is the goal bonding, water sealing, or both?
  • Does the price include finished-wall removal and restoration?
  • What happens if the crack moves again?
  • Do you see signs that require structural repair instead?

Compare crack scope separately from drainage

A leaking crack may be the entry point, but drainage or hydrostatic pressure can still contribute to the problem. If water continues to collect outside or below the wall, ask whether the proposal addresses only the crack or also the water source.

This page is educational. An online guide cannot determine whether a basement wall crack is structural or whether injection is appropriate for a specific wall.
